A Shropshire business has been boosted by inclusion in this year’s list of ‘Superbrands’ and ‘Coolbrands’.
Hair salon Toni & Guy in Shrewsbury, owned by Gavin Pulham, is the only county business to be featured in both exclusive lists.
“It is good news for us, for our customers and for Shrewsbury as it reinforces our commitment to quality and style,” said franchisee Gavin, who opened his Castle Street salon 14 years ago and now employs around 20 people.
This is the seventh time Toni & Guy has been voted into the annual Superbrand collection and its third inclusion as a Coolbrand.
The lists were launched in 2001 and canvass the opinions of business professionals and consumers to produce a barometer of Britain’s brands, people and places.
Each brand featured has qualified for inclusion based on the collective opinions of an ‘expert council’ comprising opinion-formers and style-leaders and 2,000 members of the British public.
“We are really pleased to be included in both lists again and to be regarded as highly as names such as Apple and Alexander McQueen, who are also known for their innovation and creativity, said Gavin, who has recently invested over £20,000 in a refurbishment of his salon, introducing new state-of-the-art facilities.
Toni & Guy is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading hairdressing company and celebrated 50 years in business in 2013.
It was founded by Toni Mascolo OBE whose franchise model has maintained the company’s high education and creative standards, protected the brand and made successes of thousands of hairdressing entrepreneurs worldwide.
