RISING NOVELIST SPARKLES HER WAY TO THE TOP

Up and coming British novelist, Carys Jones’ debut novel, Not All Stars Sparkle is up for nomination in the People’s Book Prize; http://www.peoplesbookprize.com/book.php?id=731 As it is a vote dependent competition, the winner is ultimately decided by the public, there is no judging panel so each and every vote counts.

Shropshire born Carys, 26 released her first book, crime fiction novel Not All Stars Sparkle on 29th October 2010 which tells the tale of Aiden Connelly; a young, successful Chicago based lawyer who has grown tired of the rat race of city life so he decides to relocate his family to the small, Southern town of Avalon.
Once there he settles into his new job and tackles his first case, that of fallen beauty queen, Brandy White who is accused of murdering her husband, local football hero, Brandon, in cold blood. As Aiden delves deeper into the case he soon realises that things are not as they seem and that Avalon is far from the idyllic town that it appears to be. It is up to him to unravel the mystery surrounding Brandon’s death before it is too late…
Carys first realised her potential as a writer at her secondary school in Telford where she wrote a series of short stories and poems outside of class. She later went on to study Film and Creative Writing at Wolverhampton University before eventually writing her first full length novel at 23 years old.
Carys says;  ‘It is really exciting to be up for the Peoples’ Book Prize. I’d love to make it to the finals as it would mean that people have read and enjoyed my book and then voted, and there is no greater compliment as a writer than for people to like your work.’
Whilst pursuing her dream of a literary career, Carys currently works in Shrewsbury, Shropshire for the NHS.
