A hug can solve a lot of problems

A hug can solve a lot of problems – and could certainly be the answer to your holiday packing nightmares.

Created by Turtle Doves, a Shropshire-based company, the Hug is an ingenious garment, which can be worn in many different ways and even used as a blanket or a pillow when travelling.

Made from a completely reversible loop of soft mixed yarns, it’s the perfect item to take on holiday, whether you are heading for some of the UKs festivals, camping or flying off to warmer climates.
“The hug can be worn in so many different ways and can take you from smart to casual and from day to night so that you will feel as if you’ve packed far more clothes than you actually have,” said Turtle Doves owner Kate Holbrook.
“You can wear the Hug as a shawl, sash, scarf, poncho, snood, shoulder cover, bolero and more.
“It’s also great as a pillow when you’re travelling or a blanket to give you an extra bit of warmth.
“Sometimes even on holiday you need something to keep you warm in the evenings and taking the Hug with you means you don’t have to pack cardigans and jumpers.”
In fact there are so many ways to wear the Hug that Mrs Holbrook has commissioned a video to tell people about all the different ways you can wear the versatile garment.

“At first people just see a wrap but then once they have watched the video, they realise just how useful it is,” Mrs Holbrook said.
“It’s hard to get across all the ways you can wear it just with pictures so a video shows just how easy it is to wear and what you can do with it.”
Turtle Doves recycles all its accessories from ‘pre-loved’ jumpers, many of which are bought from charity shops.
A finalist in the National Recycling Awards 2013, Turtle Doves will find out if it has won a coveted prize in July.
Mrs Holbrook said: “Every jumper is washed and de-fuzzed so they are ready to be worn all over again.
“If you need a Hug in particular colours to match an outfit, we can make you one to order so it gives your look a really beautiful finish.
“We can also make a Hug from your own much-loved jumpers. We can really make just what you’re looking for.
“People love the fact they are all unique and nobody has the same Hug as you,” she said.
Mr. Child, 22, who set up his company last year, said businesses who link their products to a video on YouTube and on their own website, create a unique selling point for customers.
