Excitement is building as event organisers at a Shropshire and Mid Wales charity make the final preparations for its largest fundraising event.

Severn Hospice is encouraging women from across the region to take to the streets in their pyjamas for its annual Midnight Dream Walks.

The ladies-only 10km walks are set to take place on May 18 in Telford and June 15 in Shrewsbury.

Event organisers are urging females not to miss out on the fun by signing up for the revamped event before the closing date of May 3 for Telford and May 31 for Shrewsbury.

Sarah Hawthorne, fundraising events organiser for Severn Hospice, said: “This year we have totally revamped our Midnight Dream Walks. We’ve introduced a pyjama theme and have designed two new routes following the feedback we received from last year.

“We have also lowered the age limit for walkers to 12-years-old so mums can bring along their teenage daughters if they wish.

“There is a real buzz in the fundraising office this week as the torches for our volunteer marshals have arrived and the beautiful pin badges for all our walkers are due to be delivered any day now.

“Our Midnight Dream Walks help to raise much needed funds for the hospice so we are able to continue our vital work across Shropshire and Mid Wales.

“Every year thousands of local women benefit from the specialist support we provide, either directly or because of the care given to someone they love.

“If you have not already secured your place for this year’s walk there is still time to register for either walk. We hope that you will be able to join for a fantastic night.”
