Tina Teearu, Editor of the Shrewsbury & Telford Family Grapevine is hoping to raise £2500 for CLIC Sargent children’s cancer charity in a Promise Auction on the evening of Wednesday 18th July at 7.00pm.
The Auction is part of a wider fund-raising effort culminating in April next year with a trek from the Dead Sea to Petra in Jordan (more details here: http://www.justgiving.com/grapevinetina ) organised by “Action for Charity” (www.actionforcharity.co.uk).
Tina was inspired to take on this challenge when she won a huge teddy bear called Jasper in a local raffle for just £1.
Tina says, “I wanted to help CLIC Sargent because some close friends of mine have a daughter who developed leukaemia at the age of just 2. CLIC Sargent helps by providing practical support to the whole family, enabling parents to continue to care for other children who can sometimes feel neglected with so much attention focused on their ill sibling”.
Grapevine Advertisers past and present, plus many other local businesses and individuals have given generously to the Auction and there are now almost 50 donations of services and items, including Jasper himself. All the donations can be viewed on this facebook events page:

Entry to the promise auction is FREE and there will be a raffle.
All proceeds from the Auction and Raffle will go to CLIC Sargent.
There will be a break for hot food (a veggy Moroccan Spicy Bean Chilli) to be served on the night. The cost of £5 per meal will go to the Shrewsbury Club so please buy tickets in advance from the Shrewsbury Club reception if you want to eat.
