Wedding Fayre2

Shropshire brides to be are invited to attend a free event at one of Shrewsbury’s most historic hotels.

The Lion Hotel, on Wyle Cop, is hosting a Wedding Fayre this Sunday [2 SEPT], from 11am until 2pm.

Visitors will be able to view the Grade 1 Listed 16th Century Coaching Inn & Hotel, where staff will be on hand to answer any questions, as well as meet a range of local wedding suppliers all under one roof.

In addition couples can enjoy a glass of complimentary bubbly on arrival, as well as a free goody bag to take home.

Jessica Guest, Sales Manager at the hotel said: “We know planning a wedding can be stressful, that’s why we’ve gathered some of the best local suppliers together so couples can organise everything from their wedding photographer, to their florist and makeup artist, all under one roof. While here brides and grooms to be can also view the historical and elegant spaces we have to offer, including the The Adam Ballroom which is lighted by three gorgeous chandeliers with carved stone fireplaces, a graceful central dome and grand mirrors framed into the wall.”

Paul Wilkinson, who runs Twig’s Branch Photography with his wife, Suzi, is just one of the local suppliers exhibiting at the event. He added: “There are many wedding fayres taking place across the county, but few are in such a historic and grand setting as The Lion Hotel. With free entry and a glass of bubbly and goody bag thrown in, it’s an event not to be missed!”

The Lion Hotel is situated in the heart of historic Shrewsbury. The venue is best known for its connections to Charles Darwin, who famously stayed at the hotel in 1831.
