The clock is counting down the days until the Shropshire County Show later this month – and tickets are still available to book in advance of what is one of the county’s most eagerly anticipated events of the year.

The show takes place on Saturday May 23 at the DMOS People West Mid Showground in Shrewsbury, bringing together town and country for a full fun-packed day which once again promises to be an amazing spectacle for the whole family to enjoy.

Organisers are promising something for everyone throughout the day with a wide range of exhibits and entertainment, including main arena displays, traditional rural attractions, an extensive shopping area and an impressive list of livestock classes.

Arthur Hill, show secretary, said: “The Shropshire County Show offers so much variety each year, with plenty to see and do. It is always an amazing event with something to suit the whole family.

“Tickets are still available through our website and it’s always a good idea to get your tickets early so you can plan the day and get through the gates as quickly as possible.

“Prices are extremely competitive for a full day’s entertainment and once again this year, the show is free to attend for under-16s.

“The demonstrations, livestock displays, parades and shows within the show all offer the opportunity to get up close and personal with the attractions.

“The Extreme Mountain Bike Show is sure to be a big draw and we can’t wait to see the world famous Stannage Stunt Team and their motorcycle feats – the holders of three Guinness World Records.

“The Shropshire Young Farmers tent is always a fun place to tour, and the crowds are always delighted by their fantastic YFC Float Parade in the main ring.

“There will be sheepdogs and ferrets in the Countryside Arena and a selection of music on the bandstand to suit a broad range of tastes and ages.

“The fun dog show is another mainstay of the show and we will have facepainters, sandpits, cycling chickens and magicians on hand to entertain younger show-goers.

“Other sights to enjoy include a falconry display, the always popular shire horses and various parades. And there is the chance to see some of the best livestock entries you will see anywhere, all bidding to be the best in their class.

“As always we are extremely grateful to all those visitors who are planning to join us on the day and our thanks also go to all the show sponsors and supporters – whose help is vital in putting the show on.”

Sponsors include Shuker Group, Strutt and Parker, Lanyon Bowdler Solicitors, TH White Group, Barratt Homes, ABP, NFU Mutual, Ridge Fuels and Tanners Wines.
