Who would have thought that a small Flower Show held in a marquee in Shrewsbury’s town centre in 1857 would grow to become the longest running flower show of its kind?
The last 125 years have seen many changes for the show, which relocated to the picturesque Quarry Park more than a century ago. Today, it’s one of the biggest landmark events in the British horticultural calendar and is attended by more than 50,000 people every year.
This year’s show on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th August will showcase even more stunning floral displays, highlighting the best in garden design and planting with all the latest trends on show. There will be expert advice from celebrity gardener Chris Beardshaw and top nurserymen, as well as an impressive range of plants and garden-related products for sale.
Love Shrewsbury will be covering the Flower Show throughout the weekend.
