Popular ‘songs from the shows’ and traditional music will feature in a gala performance by three local choirs in Shrewsbury later this month.

Shrewsbury Male Voice Choir, Shawbury Military Wives and The Clee Singers will join forces to present a musical evening in St Mary’s Church in Dogpole, Shrewsbury, on Friday 19th April.

The choral event will start at 7.30pm with proceeds going to family carers and community groups across the county and is being organised by Shropshire Rural Community Council.

Shropshire RCC Carers Appeal provides support to over 34,000 family carers in the county and the Shropshire Grassroots Fund promotes grants for local volunteer community groups, helping them to make a difference to the lives of those around them.

RCC chief officer Julia Baron said: “We are delighted that these three superb choirs are giving their time and talents to help our fundraising appeals and it should be a fantastic evening with a varied programme of music to suit all tastes.

“Kind support from our sponsors, local marketing company Hunter Bevan and Barclays Bank, will ensure that every penny raised by the event will go directly towards helping the local people and communities who need our support.”

Tickets are available from Shropshire RCC on 01743 360641 or from Barclays Bank in Castle Street, Shrewsbury.
