The Saddlers XI are a Sunday league team that play in the Greenhous Shrewsbury and District Sunday league. The Saddlers XI are now about to conclude their second season with promotion in their hands, after having a successful first season by finishing 5th in the league and getting to the semi-finals of the league cup.
The Saddlers XI are no ordinary Sunday league football team. They are in fact one of a kind. The Saddlers XI are the only team in Shropshire of any level that does not have a paid sponsor on the front of their home kits. The Saddlers XI are proud to have a charity on the front, that charity being The Severn Hospice. The club has had the Severn Hospice on the front of their home kits since they started two years ago. The clubs aim was to raise the awareness of the charity as well as raising vital funds through different events each year. And this will be no different as we going into our third season, with the Severn Hospice proudly going onto our brand new home kit.
The Charity Tournament
The Saddlers XI Severn Hospice Charity Football Tournament was created two years ago as the first event to raise funds by the club. The football tournament is followed by a charity fun day to raise even more funds. The fun day includes a number of things including children’s entertainment, live music, games, BBQ, prize raffle etc. The event had well over 150 people attend, coming from across the region and beyond. The whole event has always been a great success, however this year we have set our targets even higher than before.
Last year the tournament consisted of teams Shrewsbury, Telford and Aberystwyth. Each team pays to enter the tournament, each team plays 3 games in a league format with the 2 highest playing in the final. The tournament was a great success for such a small event with the winners eventually being Wrekin Wanderers from Telford.
This year we are aiming to make the tournament an even bigger success by asking a local business to be the proud sponsor of the event. We already have the help of a premier League Football Player, his time will help us raise the profile of the event. As you can imagine there are a number of costs that we have to cover to hold the event, pitch fees, referee fees, etc. Last year all of these costs were taken out of the total sum of money raised lowering our total raised. Hence why this year we are looking for a sponsor to cover these costs, which will allow us to raise even more money for such a great cause.
The event is taking place on Saturday 3rd August 2013 just four months away.
Sponsorship of Tournament
As mentioned above the Saddlers XI are looking for a local business to sponsor the charity football tournament. We are looking for a generous sponsor to help cover all of the fees involved this includes, pitch fees, referees fees, trophies etc. to name a few.
With that in mind we are looking for the sponsor to kindly donate the figure of £500. This fee although it may seem large is what we need to cover all of the costs involved in the event. By kindly being the sponsor of the event you will enable the Saddlers XI to raise even more money than ever before.
What do you receive in return?
In return for being the sponsor of the Saddlers XI Severn Hospice Charity Football Tournament you will receive a number of benefits in return.
1. The sponsor will be mentioned in all local media coverage which last year included local newspapers including the Shropshire Star and Shrewsbury Chronicle and local radio stations such as Free Radio and Shropshire Radio.
2. The sponsor will have their company logo on the front of the event programme as well as in various places throughout. Over 100 programmes where printed and given out last year.
3. The event will have the sponsor’s name after it, for example the Saddlers XI Severn Hospice Charity Football Tournament Sponsored By (YOUR NAME HERE)
4. The sponsor’s name and logo will appear on the official raffle tickets of the event. Raffle tickets are being sold by every team involved so your name will be spread across the region and beyond with teams in Aberystwyth, Telford etc.
5. The sponsor’s name will appear on all correspondence of the event including emails, letters etc.
6. The sponsor’s name will appear on all posters and flyers of the event. These are placed at venues across the region to increase the awareness of the event.
7. The sponsor’s logo and name will constantly appear on all social media and websites including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Pitchero, Just Giving etc.
8. The sponsor will have their name placed on all trophies given out to teams.
9. The sponsor’s banner/logo etc. (provided by sponsor) will be featured in photos of the event. Photos of the teams, presentation fun day etc.
10. The sponsor will know that they have given to help a great and worthy cause.
As you can see, from the sponsor of £500 you gain a great deal, and great value for the money.
