A quick Google search this evening seems to cast a doubt over whether the letters CR-V, as in Honda CR-V, stand for Compact Recreation Vehicle, or Comfortable Runabout Vehicle. Apparently, according to wikpedia (so perhaps we’ll never know for sure), Honda say it’s the latter: Comfortable Runabout Vehicle. Perhaps it was Volkswagen who started it, with their Amarok. Or was it Mercedes Benz with the X-Class? Then again, the Americans have been doing it for far, far longer. But they would, wouldn’t they? It’s just so typical of them.

Practicality must have been high on Honda’s agenda when it came to designing the latest incarnation of their HR-V. Small and far more rounded externally than the original HR-V of 1999 it may be, but the latest entry into the ever growing compact crossover market is (Cliché coming up) positively Tardis-like on the inside. Families take note.
