My cousin Jayne called: “I’m getting married. The invitation is in the post”.
Great news! And I mean it when say it genuinely couldn’t happen to a nicer couple. But while she and soon-to-be husband Stuart busied themselves with the minor details: venue, rings, dress, cake etc, I was left pondering how I was going to get six people, and no doubt copious amounts of their luggage, from...

It’s not often that you get the chance the really test a vehicle. A McLaren 720S for instance: I know it’ll do 0-62mph in little more than the blink of an eye, and on occasion I’ve been able to reaffirm such things. However the 720S’s claimed 212mph top speed is something I’ll probably never have either the space – in the correct facility of course - or perhaps the nerve, to prove. The...

Bang! There’s one. Bang! Sorry, there’s another. Oof! That was close. Look out for the next one…
I’m para-phrasing, but that’s pretty close to how a recent conversation played-out whilst driving the new Ford Focus ST. Pot holes are not its friend. And sadly, the B-roads that criss-cross the Shropshire/Welsh border, the very roads upon which a fast Ford should shine, are littered with them....

I passed my test in 1990, in a MK3 Ford Fiesta. First time too, I hasten to add. But student budgets being what they were back then simply I couldn’t afford anything as advanced as a blue 1,100c, 3 door Fiesta Popular complete with its 4 speed gearbox and optional rear wash-wipe, like that of my instructor’s. Upon gaining my freedom, my first car was an orange Hillman Imp.
In the 1990’s...

The day-long session at Trinity Primary School in Ford on June 15 will give primary teachers an insight into how to combine folk dance with contemporary hip hop and how it can be incorporated in the timetable for lessons in dance, fitness or...

The Ford Fiesta first hit the tarmac here in Blighty in 1976 and ever since then it’s been instantly familiar. It was the car that many moons ago I passed my test in, and in XR2 guise was the first proper hot-hatch I ever drove. (I “borrowed” my cousin’s C-reg example one evening). I’ve even raced one, albeit briefly and against the clock; a red ST at the now defunct Cholmondeley Pageant of...

Ryan and his...
