The Sea Change Trust, a local mental health charity working with children, young people, and families, have been awarded a grant of £298,581, by the National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK.

Spread over three years, the funding will enable the charity to extend their delivery of specialist provision through outreach and early intervention.  Therapeutic Drop-In support for babies, toddlers, and their parents will take place alongside individual ‘Listening Spaces’ and family ‘Listening Spaces’, for children, young people and families needing therapeutic support.

Tess Bailey-Sayer, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and CEO for The Sea Change Trust, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this grant by the National Lottery Community Fund. Through the project we will be able to reach out to families, children, and young people at the earliest opportunity to support their emotional health and wellbeing. It will enable us to bring people together and help them build strong relationships both within families and in and across communities.  As a small Shropshire charity, we rely on grants and donations to enable us to deliver our vital work and this funding will make a big difference to families in our local community.”

The Sea Change Trust is a Shropshire charity, based in Shrewsbury, delivering services throughout the county. The charity was formed in 2019, by a team of child specialists. They work directly with infants, children, young people, parents, and carers and aim to provide effective therapeutic support, regardless of financial means, background, or status.
