Bookfest Chair, Sophie Peach, Flora Blackman, Bella Christopher with Danielle Goffe -Wood of Galliers

Galliers Homes, one of the best-known names in the Shropshire house building sector, has stepped forward to take the position of Headline Sponsor of Shrewsbury Bookfest’s annual children’s literary festival. 

Danielle Goffe-Wood, Marketing Manager at Galliers Homes, which is based in Shrewsbury and has several housing developments around the county, says,

“As a company Galliers is very proud of its links to Shrewsbury and is keen to get involved in community events, charities and activities – our sponsorship of Bookfest is an ideal opportunity for us to support one of the town's great festivals."

Joanna Hughes, Festival Co-ordinator at Shrewsbury Bookfest added:

Some of the biggest names in the world of children’s books are taking part in this year’s Festival, which will take place in venues across the town from Friday 29th April to Monday 2nd May. 

Jacqueline Wilson is set to get the Festival off to a flying start on Friday 29th April. Over the rest of the weekend, children and families will have the chance to meet other top authors including Lauren Child, Frank Cottrell Boyce, John Hegley, Cathy Cassidy and Julian Clary, who will be introducing his new series of children’s books with award-winning illustrator David Roberts. Other events include Shaun the Sheep Modelling workshops and the Diary of a Wimpy Kid Show.
