Trumpeter Victoria Rule to perform at Shrewsbury School, Wednesday 18th June 2014

Shrewsbury School is delighted to welcome the talented and extremely versatile trumpeter Victoria Rule to perform in the School Chapel tomorrow, Wednesday 18th June.

Victoria regularly performs across the UK and abroad as a soloist, orchestral and chamber musician, playing with groups ranging from the London Sinfonietta and the New English Ballet at Sadler's Wells to the bands Elbow and McFly.

She has appeared on television shows such as Later…with Jools Holland and The Jonathan Ross Show. She has also performed live on BBC Radio 2, BBC6 Music and XFM as well as European and Indian television. Her 2014 festival appearances will include Glastonbury and V Festival.

In her concert at a Shrewsbury School, Victoria will join the School’s Director of Chapel Music Alex Mason to perform works for trumpet and organ by Purcell, Bach and Petr Eben. She will be playing three different sorts of trumpet: valveless, piccolo and modern valve trumpet.

There will also be a solo performance by one of Shrewsbury School’s organ students.

The concert begins at 6.30pm. Entry is free and cava and strawberries will be served at the end of the concert.
