Sub Aqua prize

A Shropshire couple have won a trial session of sub aqua diving in a raffle held by Greenhous Toyota, Shrewsbury as part of their Comic Relief fund-raising.  Tony Eccleston and his wife Shiela live in Higher Heath, near Whitchurch and, having dabbled in the raffle, they will be dipping into the Quarry swimming baths with the Shrewsbury Sub Aqua Club in the near future.

Tony had gained diving experience in Saudi Arabia when he was a site manager in the construction industry some years ago.  Shiela, a former company secretary, is a novice and is very excited by the prospect of her first diving experience.  “I am really looking forward to the session and I am sure I will enjoy every minute.  Tony had two years diving and speaks very fondly of the time spent in the Middle East”, said Shiela.

Gordon Kaye is a local police officer and acting chairman of the SSAC.  He is delighted that Tony and Shiela will be able to join in the diving session. “Our club is affiliated to the British Sub Aqua Club and we hold regular dive sessions at the Shrewsbury Quarry baths.  I am an advanced diving instructor and will be one of the team of instructors available to guide Tony and Shiela.  We encourage new membership to this fabulous pastime.”
