Snowdon 4 Ways Success

A local man is celebrating success after climbing to the summit of Snowdon twice using four different routes, and raising more than £3,000 for a local charity in the process.
Steve Timmis of Newport, and a group of 13 friends and family, embarked on the Snowdon 4 Ways Challenge last weekend in aid of Severn Hospice, and raised a whopping £3,130 via his Just Giving page and more than £300 in other donations.
“I’m absolutely delighted with the amount raised and incredibly proud of all the team,” Steve explained. “I lost my father very suddenly on 20th September 2013 and wanted to mark the first anniversary by doing something in his memory. We completed the challenge in just eight and a half hours – with little visibility – and have been overwhelmed by the all the support we received.
"Each year on 20th September, I’m going to take on the Snowdon 4 Ways Challenge and hope to keep building the momentum of the charity events year-on-year. We have a goal of raising £5,000 for Severn Hospice, so I’d urge anyone interested in kindly donating to our cause, to visit,” Steve concluded.
