Shropshire house riding high in national property charts

An impressive mansion in Shropshire which is on the market for almost £1 million is riding high in the national “property charts” after being viewed 11,000 times in the past month.

The six-bedroom house in Bratton, on the outskirts Telford, is rubbing shoulders with exclusive apartments in Knightsbridge and Notting Hill as the UK’s most popular properties on the Zoopla website.

Michael Nettleton, of estate agents Nock Deighton who are marketing the property, said it was a sign that Shropshire was a highly desirable place to live.

He said: “Firstly, the house is a stunning family home in a fantastic location, so we were expecting a lot of interest.

“But what’s interesting is that on a national scale it is more popular than some pretty amazing looking properties in very exclusive parts of London.

“When you look at Zoopla’s top ten most popular properties in the UK, it is alongside some properties in London that are being marketed for more than £8 million - one house has an asking price of just under £65 million!

“What that tells us is that people see Shropshire as an attractive place to live and buy property. When you compare how much house you get for your money, it’s easy to see why.

“For just under £1 million, this property offers six bedrooms and a lovely big garden with stunning views. It really is an impressive house.”

Lawrence Hall, of Zoopla, added: “Retsimlik House is a stunning property with a vast amount of family living space. We’re not surprised that it has attracted this much attention on Zoopla.

“For the equivalent square foot in London you’d be looking a price tag of at least £4.72 million.”
