Shropshire’s Search for a Phantom

Get Your Wigle On’s open auditions this August give local youngsters the opportunity to be part of one of the world’s most loved musicals; Phantom of the Opera.

Following the sell-out success of Get Your Wigle On’s Les Miserables this April, the Shrewsbury team are excited to start their next musical journey with their popular teen musical theatre group.  July 2015 brings Andrew Lloyd Webber’s spectacular production to the Theatre Severn stage and the company are on the lookout for 15-21 year olds to join the cast.

With a sensational score of songs including ‘Think of Me,’ ‘Masquerade,’ ‘All I Ask Of You’ and the title song- Phantom of the Opera has been seen by over 130 million people worldwide; making it the most successful piece of entertainment of all time.  And now it’s Shrewsbury’s turn to host the Phantom; as the ‘Wigles’ tell the tale of the masked figure lurking  far below the Paris Opera House and his love for innocent young soprano Christine.

Dazzling lead roles including the Phantom, Christine, Raoul and Carlotta will be cast from the forthcoming auditions, alongside a ballet troupe and team of young performers from the age of 10.

Get Your Wigle On have been granted special permission to perform the production in Theatre Severn’s main auditorium- accompanied by spectacular scenery and costumes and a live orchestra, this is the biggest opportunity yet for their teen company.

Auditions will be held at the Get Your Wigle On studio in Shrewsbury town centre with pre booked time slots required. Those aged 15-21 are invited to audition on Wednesday 13th August from 5.30pm.  Auditions for the ballet troupe will be held on Thursday 14th August, with auditions for younger performers aged 10-15 on Wednesday 20th August.

Young performers interested in joining the team should email [email protected] for an audition pack and time slot or alternatively can reach the Get Your Wigle On team on 01743272217.
