ShropGeek Rebellion - The Business of Web Design Roadshow

Held every quarter, Rebellion offers an evening of talks from people working within the web / digital / creative industries. Shropgeek have invited some of the digital industries most creative and forward thinking individuals to the county. This is set to be an awesome evening – not to be missed!

This event will be held at The Alb, in Shrewsbury, on Thursday June 12th 2014. This event will be perfect for anyone that runs a business or freelances within the creative / digital / marketing industries, not just web design.

As part of the promotion for The Business of Web Design Conference happening in Cardiff this July, Joel Hughes is on the road and will be coming to Shrewsbury. To celebrate the epic-ness that is the roadshow stopping by, we are putting on an extra Rebellion event and as well as Joel, we have invited people who live and work in Shropshire to come along and talk about their experiences. There will be three headline speakers, and a Q & A session at the end to give you an opportunity to ask your questions about owning or managing a business. What more could you want?

Our Rebellion #7 headliners include:

Joel Hughes – Joel has been running a web business for well over 10 years, and also runs his own Business of Web Design blog to help share experiences and best practices. Joel will be hosting the very first The Business of Web Design Conference in Cardiff on July 18th 2014.

Emma Davis – Emma has been building websites since 1998 and had her own web business since 2000. She has also started and grown 2 other businesses since then and as a self-proclaimed control freak she has experience in all aspects of running a business as she wouldn’t let anyone else do it – until now!

Darren Beale - Darren is a commercially focussed geek who runs Siftware, a small consultancy focusing on back-end web development. He can also regularly be found on building sites getting Zigbee smart energy mesh networks playing nicely across new social housing developments.

Shropshire has a huge digital / creative industry and there are very few events in the county that directly cater for those involved. This event promises to be a fantastic evening combining talks from some of the most innovative thinkers and doers.

Tickets are only £10 per person and any money left over once costs are covered will be donated to a bar tab for attendees. The doors open at 6.30pm with the first speaker starting at 7pm. Spaces are limited so book now to avoid disappointment. For full details of the event and to book tickets please visit the website at:
