Shrewsbury set to be spooky this October

If you’re looking for a genuinely spooky Halloween then Shrewsbury has to be on your list - as a medieval market town, it’s one of the most haunted places in the UK.

Newly opened to the public, the famous and feared Dana Prison is launching a Halloween themed zombie chase - ‘Lockdown III – Sanitorium’. Work out the maze of riddles and puzzles within the prison as you are chased by a pack of blood thirsty zombies.

Step on board the Sabrina where Ghost cruises take place every Monday night at 7pm. Join the 45 minute cruise for a scary and thrilling trip ‘round the loop’ of the River Severn. The guides will regale you with strange happenings and spooky tales of the river and a bygone Shrewsbury.

For little ones try the Halloween Spooktacular – Pumpkin Carving Workshop in the Darwin Shopping Centre on 27th October from 11.00am to 3.00pm. These fun-filled workshops are free of charge and supply all the tools you need to carve a spooky creation. There’s more – join the fancy dress Trek N’ Treat Parade and collect treats along the trail through the Darwin and Pride Hill Shopping Centres. The event is taking place on Friday 28th October.
