Shrewsbury Nudist Festival Given Go Ahead

The town is to hold its first nudist festival this August, the Quarry based event will be held a week after the Shrewsbury Flower Show and hopes to draw similar crowds.

Event organiser Frederic Ramsbottom has high expectations for the festival “We commissioned a top London market research company while conducting our feasibility study for the event, they concluded that around 40% of visitors to the Flower Show are also nudists. If we can attract these people then I expect it to be a great success!”

There will be many nudist friendly activities planned for the festival including plant potting, finger painting, welding and paint balling. A local sausage provider will be providing food for the festival stating their range comes in all shapes and sizes.

“We’ve something for everyone and encourage people to come and hang out with us,” added Frederic.

The event being so close to the Flower Show will use all of the existing infrastructure and specialist heaters will be installed in the tents incase of a cold spell.

Frederic hopes to get the entire town involved, “We’re thinking beyond what we can do in the Quarry, for instance we are installing lockers in the entrance to the Market Hall so that people can browse the stalls naked. We’re encouraging local restaurants to allow diners to eat in the buff, hopefully people will even ride the bus starkers”

The “only wear a smile” event costs £11 for adults, children go free.

Update: This is an April fools, hope you enjoyed.
