Shrewsbury Jobs Fair - Friday 12 September 2014

In a bid to help the unemployed back into work, Daniel Kawczynski MP is organising a Jobs Fair in Shrewsbury.  The event will take place on Friday 12 September 2014 and will provide the opportunity for those looking for a job to come along and meet with prospective employers to discuss potential work opportunities.

Daniel has invited over 40 local businesses to join him at Shirehall, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury between 10:00am and 2:00pm on Friday 12 September 2014,with many employers having already signed up to support the event.

Daniel Kawczynski said:
“Unemployment in Shrewsbury is currently very low, but there are still many of my constituents that cannot find work.  Shrewsbury has many great businesses that are expanding all the time and can offer a wide variety of employment opportunities.

I have contacted over 40 local businesses to ask whether they would be willing to support this initiative by having a stand at the event. It is however open to everyone who may be looking for people to fill permanent or temporary positions or can offer apprenticeships, so if there are other employers who consider that attendance at the Fair would be beneficial to their business, I would be pleased to hear from them.

Last year’s Fair attracted some 400 people and feedback from the employers that attended was very positive; in that they found some excellent candidates who were considered for vacancies and they very much wanted the event to be repeated again this year.   I hope that this event will open up opportunities for the people of Shrewsbury who are looking for employment.”

Anyone wishing to attend this free event either as a prospective employer or as a job seeker is asked to contact Daniel’s constituency office on 01743 233646 for further details.
