A rising young piano trio playing vibrant contemporary jazz with a range of influences from folk, hip-hop, classical and soul.
Dominic J Marshall is an award winning jazz pianist and composer who, after a classical piano training, studied jazz at Leeds College of Music followed by a Masters course at Amsterdam Conservatorium. He has played throughout Europe, and featured in a BBC Radio 3 broadcast from the Manchester Jazz Festival. He has recently released a critically acclaimed third album, “Spirit Speech” with his international trio. Tonight he plays with:
Sam Vicary plays acoustic and electric bass. Based in Leeds, he teaches jazz, soul and pop and is involved in a number of community and education projects. He is a member of six contemporary jazz groups.
Sam Gardner is a versatile and in demand drummer based in London. He is a bandleader, sideman, composer and session musician. He plays jazz and latin american music and has a particular interest in Indian classical music, having studied Indian tabla percussion. His own band, Samadhi has recently released its debut album.
