Saxonby adds a little bit extra to its real ale bar sponsorship at Shrewsbury Flower Show

In addition to tasting some of Shropshire’s best beers, the Shropshire Born & Brewed (SB&B) real ale tent at this year’s Shrewsbury Flower Show will also be offering attendees a range of ciders, food from The Colonel’s Kitchen, a folk music session during lunchtime on Saturday August 10, as well as a traditional fairground game with prizes for children, proceeds from which will be donated the Help For Heroes charity.

The real ale bar was launched at the Shrewsbury Flower Show in 2012, a first in the event’s 124-year history, and will again be co-sponsored by town-based businesses Saxonby and Asset Surfacing Ltd. SB&B provides its outdoor real ale bars to organisers of local shows, festivals, weddings, parties and similar functions. The beers served at the Flower Show will be some of the best from Shropshire breweries including Three Tuns, Salopian and Stonehouse and on one brewed specifically by Hobsons for SB&B.

James Wood, director at Saxonby said: “The bar was very popular last year and because of that and its success at the recent Shropshire County Show, we decided to continue with our sponsorship but add something extra. In addition, to the game, music, good food, beer and additional cider selection, it will be located in two areas of the flower show site. Once again, we are looking forward to an excellent and prestigious event for Shrewsbury.”

The SB&B real ale bars will be at site nine near to The Quarry bandstand throughout the day and evening, and from 5pm in the arena. The Shrewsbury Flower Show takes place over two days: Friday 09 and Saturday 10 August.
