Santa spreading Christmas cheer at football courses

A visit from Santa Claus will be one of the highlights when a popular Shropshire coaching company hold Christmas Soccer Schools at three venues around the county.

Crossbar Coaching Education in Sport, who deliver sport across the curriculum in a number of Shropshire schools, have taken the wraps off a trio of three-day courses in the countdown to Christmas.

They will take place at Lawley Primary School in Telford, Shrewsbury's Greenfields Primary School and Broseley C of E Primary School between Monday, December 22 and Christmas Eve.
Sessions each day will run from 10am to 3pm while early drop offs for youngsters are available at each venue from 8.30am and late pick ups until 4pm.

Each course will include a visit from Santa Claus who will give each child a Christmas present.
"We theme all of our holiday courses and make them as much fun for the kids as possible," said Gavin Cowan, director of Crossbar. "The ethos of what we do is all about fun but obviously development as well.

"The kids know they're having loads of fun but subconsciously they're developing their physical literacy and also their life skills as well like team work, attitude and conducting themselves in the right way so it all comes together.

"Santa Claus will be making an appearance and there will be lots of games. It will all be themed so it's a big event for us and we're primed and ready to go."

The cost of the course is £30 for all three days or £12.50 for an individual day.

Families can take advantage of Crossbar being Ofsted registered and they also offer a childcare voucher scheme.
