Prestfelde's Christmas treat for pensioners

Elderly Shrewsbury residents are in for a treat next week when they join pupils of Prestfelde School for Christmas celebrations.

Prestfelde, based in London Road, has invited pensioners from The Ferns Residential Home to come along to the school for a festive lunch on December 10.

Pupils will be serving a traditional turkey dinner and Christmas pudding to residents of the home, based in Longden Road, and will then be providing musical entertainment and carol singing.

The children’s parents are also being asked to donate a small gift for each of the visiting residents.

Prestfelde educates around 285 children aged from three to 13 drawn from all over the county.
