Planning First-Time Trip to the USA? Here is What You Need to Know!

So, you have finally decided to fly over the North Atlantic Ocean and cover the distance of 4, 242 miles. You are planning to hit the sunny beaches of LA this spring break, and that’s a great idea!

Sometimes, it gets boring for the UK citizens to live while all engrossed by the colonial vibes and sophistication. It is always good to have a different taste of life. Some upbeat experiences, thrill, and the idea of ‘different-us’ are essential to keep life in a stir. And no place can give you a better experience than the USA if you want to spice up your life.

The USA is one of the most happening travel destinations, and its airports are one of the busiest airports in the world. And we know why? Its thrilling lifestyle, never-ending things-to-do, and mesmerizing beaches can make anyone fall for it head over heels. So, no wonders that you have also decided on your trip to the USA from the UK. But before defining your itinerary and planning your bucket list, you need to know a few things.

Here are given things you need to feed your mind to have a memorable journey:

Get an ESTA:

Mostly, you need to get a visa to enter a country, no matter if you are going for a vacation, business, or whatever purpose. But this is not the case with the UK citizens visiting the USA. The US has offered a Visa Waiver Program (VWP) to citizens of 38 countries, and the UK is included in it. According to this program, the citizens from these countries can visit the US for up to 90 days without applying for any visa. However, you do need to apply for authorisation through ESTA for UK citizens.

Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is like an e-passport that you must possess while traveling to the US, and it costs not more than the US 14 dollars. You wouldn’t be able to enter the US without an ESTA.

Secure Your Luggage with a TSA-Approved Lock:

You can’t afford to lose your belongings while travelling abroad. The idea of getting stranded on a foreign land without having any money, important documents, and clothes to wear is so horrible. So, it is better to secure your luggage with a lock to prevent any mishap. But make sure your lock is TSA-approved. You must keep in mind that your baggage is going to go through a strict security check by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). If they find anything suspicious in your bag during the screening process, they will open your bag. Well, even if they have to break the lock! So, make sure to use TSA-approved locks so that they can open your luggage with a master key, and don’t have to break your lock.

Plan Airport Transfer Ahead:

If you don’t want to lose your precious time while being trapped in the heavy US traffic, then better plan out your airport transfer beforehand. Don’t rely on public transportation because its infrastructure is limited. The best way to reach your hotel or wherever you are planning to stay is via airport transfer. Make sure you arrange it!

Your trip to the USA will be one of the most memorable experiences of your life. You will surely enjoy your visit. But make sure everything is planned to avoid any trouble!
