Mortgage Specialist Moves in to Help Local Homebuyers

A building society in Shropshire is expanding its mortgage advice service with the appointment of a new personal mortgage manager.

Kim Rimmer has taken up the role at the Oswestry branch of the West Brom on Church Street, advising on new mortgage applications, helping existing borrowers remortgage to a new deal and offering guidance on mortgage protection products.

She will also support mortgage customers from the Society’s neighbouring branches in Shrewsbury, Welshpool and Newtown.

Kim has worked at the West Brom in Oswestry for 20 months as a customer service advisor and knows the local property market well having lived in the town for 11 years.

She said: “I am so excited about this great service for both our existing customers and those new to the Society who want specialist mortgage advice.  The appointment is a fantastic personal opportunity too as I have been able to complete my CeMap (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) and progress my career with the Society.

“The reaction has been very positive and I am really looking forward to spending time with customers and advising them on the best mortgage options.  To make things easier, we now have Saturday appointments available as well as telephone consultations.”

Senior branch manager Clare Bound added: “Ever since Kim started at the West Brom she has been keen to progress and shown a willingness to learn and develop.  We have seen a notable increase in demand for mortgage advice, with many of our regular customers expressing their preference for face-to-face meetings, and especially with someone they know and trust.”

The West Brom is a leading regional building society providing a broad range of financial products and services, notably savings, investments and residential mortgages.
