Missing Britain in Bloom Flag

Members of Shrewsbury in Bloom are calling for the return of the Britain in Bloom Champion of Champion flag which was taken from the Quarry flagpole over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

The flag was given to Shrewsbury by the Royal Horticultural Society to mark the town’s achievement in the 2014 Britain in Bloom Awards in which Shrewsbury became Champion of Champions.  It has been proudly flown in the Quarry since October last year.

Town Clerk, Helen Ball said:  “It is most disappointing that someone should choose to take our Champion of Champions flag.  The flag proudly acknowledges all of the work that so many people put in to our Bloom activities so that we could achieve the ultimate award from the Royal Horticultural Society.  We cannot just replace the flag as it is a one-off and we would urge whoever took it to return it so that it can be put back in its rightful home.”
