Local businesswomen organise a year long fund-raising project to raise funds for The Royal British Legion

Three Shropshire based business women who met whilst working on several projects over the past year have decided to pool their skills and raise money for charity

Nikki Prince from Royal Touch Photography, Emily Jayne Pitt from Emily Jayne Hairs & Graces and Charlotte Burgess Steele from Charlotte's Make Up, decided that a Vintage Pin Up Calendar would be the perfect way to raise money and make the most of their skills.

The 2015 Calendar will be launched towards the end of 2014, and in the run up to the launch the ladies will be organising several fund-raisers along the way to help them reach the target they have set themselves of £5000 for the charity. 24 ladies will appear in the calendar with 5 of them being local Shropshire ladies. Most of the ladies have military connections, including Grace Cashen from Telford who's husband was been medically discharged from the Army. The calendar will be shot in April and May 2014, with the official launch event for the calendar taking place in early September 2014.

Their first fund-raising event will take place at Al's Diner, Harlescott, Shrewsbury on Saturday 25th January2014, this will be a chance to meet the people behind the project, and enjoy a night of music, fun and fund-raising. The biggest event planned is a 'Battle of The Forces Football Tournament' and Family Fun Day at Powerleague, next to Shrewsbury Town on Sunday 23rd March 2014.

The support so far has been amazing and all the ladies are excited to be involved in the project.

They have set up a Facebook Page where people can show their support, follow the progress and get involved, the page is https://www.facebook.com/charityvintagepinupcalendar
