Late night shopping in Shrewsbury: Important Car Park Information

Despite this week’s flooding, Shrewsbury’s town centre businesses will be open as normal for late night shopping and people are being encouraged to visit the town.

Frankwell and St Julian's Friars car parks are closed due to high flood levels, but free parking will be available from 4pm this afternoon in the following Shropshire Council-owned car parks:

  • Abbey Foregate long-stay car park
  • Bridge Street short-stay car park
  • St Austin's Street short-stay car park
  • The Tannery short-stay car park

Raven Meadows multi-storey will be open until 9.30pm (normal charges apply) to provide further additional parking for late night shoppers.

Kirsten Henly, Shrewsbury BID Manager, said: “Although the flooding is an issue, we are working with Shropshire Council to ensure that free car parking is still available and unaffected car parks are accessible for longer for the good of shoppers, and importantly supporting businesses at this key time in the trading calendar.”

The last Park and Ride buses will leave the Park and Ride car parks at 6.20pm, and leave the town centre at 6.30pm.
