A Jumper is for life not just for Christmas.

Do you have shimmering snowflakes festooned jumper sitting lifeless at the back of your wardrobe? Have you got a reindeer roll neck stuffed in a draw? Is your Santa Sweater sad, lonely and a little bit unloved at the bottom of the dog’s bed? Well dust them off, and don them proudly as Theatre Severn and Shropshire based Theatre Company Vested invites you to show off your seasonal knitwear at their performance of ‘The Perfect Season’.

Hailed as ‘The Anti Panto’ The Perfect Season examines the rigmarole and rituals that some people will go to, to keep the festive spirit alive. From the serial Christmas card sender, the man who aims to complete his entire Christmas shopping in under 12 minutes and to the struggling actor who knows this year’s Nativity might just be his big break.

You’ll meet a host of characters whose coping mechanisms and strategies to make this year’s ‘the best Christmas EVER’ become more and more outrageous, hilarious and perhaps a bit too recognisable!

In the tradition of all good Christmas shows vested interest are keen to get everyone involved.  Anyone attending the production this November dressed in a Christmas jumper will be in with a chance of winning a glittering prize.

Director Vicki Duckett said: ‘We’re not sure what the prize will be, but it will be something suitably Christmassy, a little something for under your tree from us. But not just any Christmas jumper will win it, we are looking for the most glittery, most festive, most ridiculous, fun filled piece of knitwear the county has to offer and we know Shropshire can rise to the challenge!’

Vested Interest are a Shrewsbury based theatre company who create original theatre and comedy based on the best and worst aspects of human behaviour. They have performed at venues across the country, including a specially written piece performed in the heart of a busy restaurant mid service.

The Perfect Season will be at Theatre Severn on Saturday 22nd November. Tickets are available at www.theatresevern.co.uk or by contacting the box office on 01743 281 281.
