Mindfulness is increasingly proving to be a highly effective and powerful tool for enhancing general well-being, our ability to relax, reduce stress, live more fully, increase personal effectiveness, resilience, coping with difficult mental states....

This workshop is designed as an introduction to mindfulness for people with little or no knowledge or experience of mindfulness. It is highly experiential and will provide you with a basic understanding of mindfulness, and how to start practicing and integrating mindfulness into both your personal and work life. 

The course fee includes a practice CD, handout and refreshments.

Mindful eating - An introduction

Developing new ways of relating to food, eating and nourishment

Ever find yourself opening a, bar of chocolate, packet of crisps, staring into your fridge or sitting down to a meal and next thing you know, whatever you were eating is all gone and you can’t remember a single moment of eating it?

For most of us, we not only often eat on automatic – without much thought or attention to our food, the process of eating and our body’s actual needs - but also have a lot of unconscious habits and beliefs around food and eating.

This introduction to mindful eating is a highly experiential workshop designed to introduce you to the practice of mindful eating, its underlying principles it, practical application and to get you started on your own mindfulness eating practice.

Orientation session for upcoming 8-week mindfulness course

Friday, 10th October, 7pm - 8:30pm, Free, Friends Meeting House, Shrewsbury

Every 8-week mindfulness course is preceded by an Orientation Session. 

This session is totally free, open to everyone, strongly recommended for those intending to attend an 8-week course, and an opportunity to learn a little more about mindfulness and the 8-week course.


Mindfulness for greater well-being & stress reduction (MBSR)

An intensive 8 week introduction to mindfulness 

Starting Friday, 24th October, 6:30pm - 9pm, for 8 weeks, £180/£120, Friends Meeting House, Shrewsbury

MBSR is an intensive, structured 8-week program for learning mindfulness. It was developed in the US in 1979 by Jon Kabat-Zinn from the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and is the prime vehicle through which mindfulness is being taught in secular contexts throughout the world.
