Holiday fun on offer for county youngsters

The always popular holiday courses offered by Crossbar Coaching Education in Sport will return during half term later this month to keep local youngsters occupied.

The Shropshire coaching company, who have developed an impressive reputation since being formed in 2008, will be running Halloween-themed Soccer Schools at three county venues.

They will also be holding a street dance course and a one-day multi-sport course to keep children entertained during their school break.

"It's going to be another action-packed week," said Gavin Cowan, the director of Crossbar. "We had a fantastic time over the summer holidays with more than 3,000 children attending our various courses.

"We are again looking forward to holding soccer schools, dance clubs and multi-sport days all over Shropshire to cater for all children wanting to be active in sport aged between five and 11.

"The Crossbar half term will be focused on developing the all round ability, physical literacy and life skills of children, giving them the full experience of how sport can play a major role in being the best you can be."

Three-day soccer schools will be held at Lawley Primary School, Shrewsbury's Greenfields Primary School and Broseley C of E Primary School between Monday, October 27 and Wednesday, October 29.

Sessions will take place from 10am until 3pm at a cost of £12.50 per day or £30 for the three days while it's £10 per day or £22.50 for all three days for youngsters who attend any of the host schools or either the Crossbar Academy or Krossbar Kidz.

Early drop offs are available at the venues from 8.30am and there is also the option of late pick ups until 4pm.

Gavin added: "All our holiday courses are provided with the highest levels of professionalism and attention to detail with all players supported to achieve and maximise their potential. Good attitude, team work and performance is recognised and rewarded throughout all courses.

"The innovative Crossbar team introduce new and fun ideas to capture the imagination of attendees at every course."

Having been launched successfully in the summer holidays, Crossbar are delighted to be running a Multi-Sport Friday with their partners at The Shrewsbury Club on Sundorne Road on October 31 from 10am until 3pm at a cost of £10 per child.

Crossbar, who deliver sport across the curriculum to a number of county schools, are also offering a Haloween Street Dance Course at Telford's Hollinswood School between October 27 and 29. It is £10 per day or £22.50 for all three days.
