Glazing firm joins register scheme

A leading Shropshire glazing business has been accepted on to a reliable trader scheme run jointly by Shropshire Council and Telford and Wrekin Council.

Heritage Glass Group, based in Monkmoor, Shrewsbury, has been presented with the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin ‘Trader Register’ certificate in recognition of being accepted on to the scheme.

The scheme has been set up to help consumers find reliable businesses and traders that will treat them fairly. People who use businesses on the register get the peace of mind from knowing that all qualifying firms have signed up to a comprehensive code of practice and agree to work with the Council’s Public Protection team should a problem arise.
“We are delighted to have been accepted onto this well-respected register – it is good news for our customers throughout the county,” said Heritage Glass Group director Anthony Randall.
“Many consumers have trouble in finding a business they can rely on when they need work carried out on their home and this scheme aims to reassure consumers, providing advice and information on employing a trader and working together to get things right first time.”

On using the Trader Register, Shropshire Councillor Steve Charmley said;
“People know they will be supporting reliable local businesses and trades people who commit to giving good customer service.  We now have over 200 traders who have been accepted on to the register. These businesses get support and advice on meeting their legal obligations to customers as well as a low cost way to promote their services”.

People wanting to find a trader and business wishing to join should visit the trader register page on the Shropshire Council or Telford and Wrekin Council website or go directly to
