Farm-to-table Events Company to Host Pop-Up Dining Experiences at Maynard’s Farm

Enroot is an innovative, grassroots venture that travels around the country hosting farm-to-table events in collaboration with local farmers and businesses. This June, to coincide with Shrewsbury Food Festival, Enroot will be hosting two 3-course dinner events at Maynard’s Farm in Weston-Under-Redcastle, just outside of Shrewsbury.

Taking place on Thursday 25th June and Saturday 27th June. Enroot are hosting a special ‘pop-up’ experience that aims to bridge the gap between producers and consumers. Showcasing local and seasonal menus using ingredients sourced from the farm and other local suppliers, the Enroot initiative was founded by Edinburgh-born Angus Buchanan-Smith and his friend DeVonn Francis earlier this year.

Maynard's Farm, Shropshire’s award-winning artisan smoker and curer, shares a similar ethos, only producing specialist pork products using traditional methods and local ingredients wherever possible. Their range includes traditional cured bacon and pork sausages as well as bespoke recipes such as treacle-smoked bacon, smoked pancetta and cracked black pepper sausages.

Enroot’s pop-up restaurant can accommodate 32 guests, and provides diners with an opportunity to meet and find out more about the Maynard’s Farm team and other local food producers who have supplied ingredients for the menu. This ensures a connection can be made around the family-style dinner table - developing a deeper understanding of the provenance of the food being served.

Angus Buchanan-Smith, co-founder of Enroot, said: “We have just finished a series of 3 sell-out events at the Cockburn Farm, in Edinburgh, Scotland, where we sourced our products from the surrounding community. We are excited to bring this experience to Maynard’s Farm and to share with the community in and around Shrewsbury. Each evening is a celebration of the fantastic produce, that has quite literally, been grown and raised under our very feet.”
