All the colour, atmosphere and sheer spectacle of Britain’s biggest, brightest Motocross Family Festival will return to Hawkstone Park near Shrewsbury over the weekend of August 31/September 1 when round six of the Red Bull Pro Nationals pitches camp at the historic track.  After a succession of major events at the venue since the championship’s inaugural season in 2009, series promoter e22 Sports is looking forward to returning to Hawkstone Park for the fifth year in a row with a packed schedule of world-class racing and family-friendly attractions.  The unique mix of top-flight Pro adult and Youth racing combined with a host of off-track activities has firmly established the Red Bull Pro Nationals as a surefire family favourite with round two at Weston-super-Mare in mid-May drawing a series record of 10,000 spectators over the weekend.

The racing is a truly international affair with competitors from eight countries battling to win a slice of a series prize fund that currently stands at over £70,000. Big money attracts big names and the two Pro classes are stacked with world-class stars including defending champions Nico Aubin (France) and Neville Bradshaw (South Africa) along with current series leader Kristian Whatley (England) plus Baltic Bullet Gert Krestinov (Estonia).  There’s also strength in depth in the four Red Bull Elite Youth Cup classes which are made up of the UK’s leading young guns aged from seven to 18 years old.

It’s not just racing!

Away from the track the focus is firmly on family fun and getting youngsters active. There will be kids’ Motocross  Try-Outs throughout the weekend giving younger visitors the chance to learn to ride under qualified supervision as well as Quad and Electric Trials Bike Experiences and on the Sunday there will be Zorb Balls, bungee trampolines, face painting, bouncy castles and appearances from children’s TV favourites Peppa Pig and George, Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam in the Kidzone area.

And Sunday is also the day we wheel out the aerial gymnasts of the MX world when the UK’s top Freestyle Motocross riders hit the ramps. What these high-flying showmen can do has to be seen to be believed as they whip and backflip their 100kg machines 40 feet above the ground. Add to that incredible aerial acrobatics from the Red Bull Matadors display team and Sunday promises to be a feast of big thrills and even bigger air!
