Becca will be flying high at fashion event

A Shrewsbury hairdresser will be mixing with some of the world’s leading designers and models later this month when she plays a key part in London Fashion Week.
Becca Paulette (21), who works at the Toni & Guy salon in Castle Street, has been chosen to join the elite styling team for the high profile five-day event which starts on September 12.

She will be working backstage at more than 30 shows throughout the city, preparing models for the catwalks.

Her manager at Toni & Guy in Shrewsbury, Lauren Foskett, said that she was very proud of Becca’s achievement.

She commented: “Every year a large number of hairdressers from throughout the country audition to work at London Fashion Week as it is such a prestigious international showcase.
“Out of all those that apply, only around 15 make it on to the team so she has done really well to be chosen.”
Becca, from Baschurch, has already taken part in a ‘boot camp’ to help her learn how to work under the pressure of the event, practising a variety of techniques and styles.

“I am really looking forward to working backstage with the Toni & Guy session team to create the looks on the models as they hit the runway.
“These styles could involve anything from wet-look grunge looks to big bouncy blow dries or complex buns and braids and the models need to be catwalk ready in a matter of hours.”

Becca joined Toni & Guy as an apprentice and qualified as a colour specialist last year, emerging with flying colours from the group’s training programme.
She completed an intensive six-week training programme run by Toni & Guy in London, finishing as the top student for her course.
