Saxonby appoints new finance manager and creates two assistant director roles to support planned growth in 2016

Shropshire homebuilder Saxonby has appointed a new finance manager and promoted two current employees to the position of assistant directors, in a move to support the company’s future development and planned growth.

New finance manager Janet Goyner holds a HND in business studies and has over 30 years’ experience working within the construction industry. Reporting to Saxonby’s finance director Pak Wong, her duties and responsibilities will include looking after the sale and purchase ledgers, raising and processing invoices, reconciling the bank and subcontractor accounts, monitoring cash flow and administering PAYE. Prior to joining Saxonby she held a similar role with a family construction company in London and returns to her native Shropshire after a twenty-six year absence.

Alistair Stewart and Lee Goswell, who both joined Saxonby in 2014, have been promoted to assistant directors. Stewart holds a BA (Hons) and a MPlan (with merit) in urban studies and planning from the University of Sheffield and is a licentiate member of the Royal Town Planning Institute. Working with directors Andrew Copson and James Wood he heads up the Land & Planning Services business unit. Goswell holds a BA (Hons) in business and finance from Sheffield Hallam University and has a wealth of practical experience in the discipline. He is also a qualified Code for Sustainable Homes assessor and co-ordinates all technical aspects of Saxonby’s on-site projects.

Commenting on the new appointment and promotions, director James Wood said: “Having completed a number of successful developments in 2015, Saxonby’s order book is set to expand with new projects in the pipeline for 2016. As a result it made sense for us to implement this management restructure. Our plan has always been to recognise and reward performance by offering positive career opportunities to people from within the business. Hence, the new positions for Lee and Alistair. We knew Janet would be the right fit for as soon as we interviewed her. From the experience gained in her previous role she understands how Saxonby works as a close-knit team.
