Young People to get animated with Hive workshop

Young people in Shropshire have the exciting opportunity to participate in a Halloween themed animation workshop this half-term at the Hive Music and Media Centre in Shrewsbury.

Exploring digital and stop-frame techniques to produce a Halloween themed animation in a day, young participants will create their very own plasticine characters and colourful sets. The workshop will be taking place on Tuesday October 30, between 10am and 3:30pm. The workshop for ages 8-13 will cost only £17.50 for the day and there are limited places still available.

The Hive also has an Open Mic event during the half-term holiday, providing the opportunity for young bands and emerging performers to take to the Hive's established stage and ahowcase their emerging talent. The Open Mic on Thursday November 1 will cost £2 entry on the door with 3 songs per act and doors will open at 7:30pm..

Habib Malik-Mansell, Marketing Assistant at the Hive said “As a creative venue the Hive always aims to offer a diverse variety of activities for young people during the school holidays - giving them the chance to express and esplore their creativity, through the arts. Animation always proves highly popular as a workshop with children and parents alike and I therefore recommend people book the last few places soon to avoid any possible disappointment”.

Places for Halloween themed animation workshop on October 30 can be booked by calling the centre on 01743 234970 or visiting the Hive in person at 5 Belmont, Shrewsbury, SY1 1TE. For more information visit
