Shrewsbury Brass Band Concert Date

The new Shrewsbury Brass Band conducted by Stephen Pritchard-Jones will perform a candlelight concert at St George’s Church, Pontesbury on Saturday 27th October 2012 at 7.00pm. 

The Shrewsbury Brass Band have already made a mark on the Shropshire music scene performing at the Mayors Charity concert at St Chads, St Marys Church raising funds for Muscular Dystrophy Campaign UK and at The Ironbridge Festival of Brass to raise funds for the Severn Hospice.

Tickets on sale now priced £7.50 (to include refreshments) at ‘Connections’ and from Allen 01743 791822 and Barbara 01743 792518. Also available on the door. Proceeds to be shared between Friends of St Georges and Shrewsbury Brass Band.

About the Band

Shrewsbury Brass Band formed in April 2012, is a traditional brass band based in Shrewsbury, and is a registered charity. As well as the main band, there is also a training band to help us bring through players for the future.
The band is pleased to support many local charities and organisations by performing concerts. Recently the band has raised funds for Mayors Charity, Muscular Dystrophy UK,  Hope House Children’s Hospice and The Severn Hospice.
The band is made up of 38 members and conducted by Shrewsbury musician Steve Pritchard-Jones. Steve is well known in the brass band world as an adjudicator and conductor and very proud to be the first conductor of Shrewsbury Brass Band.
Shrewsbury Brass Band is a community, self-funded, non-contesting and unsponsored band and at present fund raising to buy new instruments, uniform and to develop the training band.
