local dog Baxter starts his charity walk

Baxter is a 10yr old Parsons Jack Russell Terrier who is a sponsor dog with the charity Oldies Club. Oldies Club are a nationwide company who rescue and rehome dogs over the age of 7yrs, they rely soley on donations to be able to carry on their good work. Patron of this  wonderful charity is Marc Abraham. He lives with Kate Griffiths and Daniel Holbrough in Pontesbury, Nr Shrewsbury. With the lovely Shropshire Hills on his doorstep to explore, it’s no wonder this amazing little dog is taking on the challenge of Wales’ biggest mountain.

On November 30th Baxter will be climbing Snowdon to raise £1,085 for Oldies Club . At 1085 metres above sea level , Baxter is hoping to raise £1 for every metre climbed . To ensure protection from the elements at this time of year, he will be wearing a specially designed handmade coat, kindly donated by Pembrokeshire company Forest Fleece.

He has been in training around the county , regularly doing 8 - 10 miles a day. He likes to keep his fans up to date with his progress via his face book page and twitter account.  www.facebook.com/BaxtersCharityClimb  www.twitter.com/BaxterTerrier

He needs your help to raise as much money as he can.
