Daniel Kawczynski MP: IPSA recommendations on MP Pay and Expenses

Daniel Kawczynski, Member of Parliament for Shrewsbury and Atcham is encouraging constituents to make their views on MP pay and expenses known, following today’s announcement that the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) has launched a consultation on recommended changes.

Daniel Kawczynski said:

‘I consider that it is important to keep costs of politics down in this country; any increase in pay must be offset by reductions in other benefits and I welcome the recommended reduction in MP’s pensions and allowances.

It is, however, important that members of the public make their views known on the recommendations being proposed by IPSA.

The consultation period will run from 11 July until 20 October 2013 and people can make their views known to either on-line by visiting the IPSA website  www.parliamentarystandards.org.uk   or by post  to  MPs’ Pay & Pensions Consultation Responses,  Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority,
7th Floor, Portland House,  Bressenden Place, London SW1E 5BH.’
