Staff at a Shropshire arts venue are preparing to host a spectacular childrens puppet show. As part of its diverse programme of childrens arts activities for the spring season, the Hive in Shrewsbury is looking forward to presenting The Waving Cat of Japan.
This cultural extravaganza is set to wow audiences of all ages in May!
The live performance at the Hive on Tuesday May 28 will showcase the tale of Maneki Neko, aka The Waving Cat. This is the instantly recognisable Japanese cat-shaped figurine, which is believed to bring good luck and fortune; of whom there are many folk tales and legends across the globe.
In this stunning puppet show, Maniki Neko will face the challenges of a tropical storm, a wicked Sorceress, a tricky prince and several important tasks to undertake before midnight arrives! The show promises to dazzle young children, especially those aged between 3 and 7 years.
People are invited to come and join the acclaimed Krazy Kat Theatre, as they celebrate their thirtieth birthday year with this visually exciting new show, which is also a special sign language creation. The show will offer a puppet-style theatrical fantasy tale, with an eye-catching mix of Japanese imagery.
Habib Malik-Mansell from the Hive said "Our live theatre shows continually capture the hearts and imaginations of audience members - and The Waving Cat of Japan truly won't be an exception to this rule. This particular performance is a key highlight within our current spring programme of events and the fact that tickets are already selling at such an early date, demonstrates how popular the show will undoubtedly be!"
The performance will be taking place at the Hive on Tuesday May 28 at 2pm. Tickets cost £6 for adults and £5 for children, with people already snapping up the opportunity to watch the show.
Tickets can be booked by calling the Hive on 01743 234970 or by visiting the centre in person, at 5 Belmont, SY1 1TE. For more information http://www.hiveonline.org.uk/theatreshows/
