Over 20 businesses supporting event

Organisers of a community street festival have recently announced the support of two Shrewsbury solicitor's practices. SLC Solicitors of Hills Lane and Wace Morgan of Belmont have chosen to sponsor elements of the Hive's community street festival. The event on May 6 will bring Belmont alive with activities for a third annual extravaganza!

Drumming will be a key theme of this year's event with Taiko, Samba and Dohl drumming groups due to bring rhythm and soul to proceedings. On May 6 between 2pm and 6pm, the Hive will offer a wide variety of attractions for the benefit of local people with craft workshops for young people and families, lots of stalls, a bag-piper and a face-painter. There will be a Henna artist, a DJ, Maypole workshops and a special guest courtesy of Shropshire Cat Rescue. A further surprise is also scheduled during the afternoon too!

Habib Malik-Mansell of the Hive said "It's positive to see so many businesses and local organisations coming on-board to help make this year's street festival the best yet! As well as providing a FREE fun day for the benefit of the local community, we're bringing together various sectors of business across Shropshire. From the local housing association to residents groups, town centre restaurants, private companies and then other charities too - the whole aim is to offer a great day which can be enjoyed by all ages."

The street party on May 6 is being supported this year by Shropshire Council, Bright Owls, Eat-up, Slugworthes Candy, Severn Magazine, Jim Hawkins, Chris the Piper, Severnside Housing, Iddy's Ices, Shrewsbury Town Centre Residents Association, Wace Morgan, Battlefield Printing Group, Shropshire Cat Rescue, SLC Solicitors, Salop Medical Services, Hennacat, Shropshire Live, We Are Frostfire and Young Enterprise.
