Easter at the Hive - craft fair and more!

Arts and entertainment venue the Hive Music and Media Centre in Shrewsbury, has today unveiled its exciting Easter events programme. A highlight of the seasonal events this holiday break will be an Easter Bazaar on Saturday March 30 - but there will also be creative workshops for young people thrown into the mix as well!

The Hive's Easter programme launches with a unique Easter Bazaar on Saturday March 30 where there will be a diverse selection of over 30 interesting stalls to peruse, celebrating and showcasing an array of crafts-people from across the county. Refreshments will be on offer from the team at neighbouring local resturant Eat-Up. The event will be taking place between 10am and 3pm.

Stall-holders exhibiting for the special one-off Easter event include knitwear, baby items, hair accessories, ceramics, greetings cards, scarves, stationary, books, clothes, jewellery, bags, candles and much more. Entry to the event is £1 for adults and proceeds from the entry fee will support the Hive's work delivering outreach projects and arts opportunities to disadvantaged young people across Shropshire.

However, the Hive will also be providing the chance for young people aged 8-13 to get creative and have fun with a choice of two holiday workshops. On April 2 an Eco-fashion workshop will give participants an opportunity to work with a professional textile artist, to produce stunning home and fashion accessories. This will be followed by an animation workshop on April 9, where young people can explore stop-frame techniques in a day. Both workshops will be taking place between 10am to 3:30pm and cost £17.50 for the day.

Habib Malik-Mansell at the Hive said "Easter is continually a busy period for us at the Hive and as ever, this year builds on this very reputation for providing a diverse array of events for the benefit of local people. The Easter Bazaar on March 30 promises to be a fantastic event which should not be missed! Finally, our arts workshops for young people prove popular year after year, so I encourage people to book immediately before places are gone!".
