New Platform for Shropshire Business

Businesses and organisations supporting elderly people now have a platform to showcase their products and services.

Shropshire-based Independent Care Solutions have launched a new online ‘Useful Directory’ to allow elderly and vulnerable people and their carers the opportunity to access everything they may need.
From equipment to residential homes, care at home, solicitors, household and gardening services the directory includes details and information of reliable companies providing the services older people often need.
ICS provide face to face support and advice to elderly and disabled people and refer to the ‘Useful Directory’ as a tool for people to use to collate the information they require when considering the options of services.
Charlotte Quinton, of ICS, said: “By 2020 half of the UK population is expected to be aged 50 or over and as the population changes more services, products and events are being organised and offered for older people.

“We speak to a lot of people looking for advice about their future care and the best options for them to take but we are often asked for simple details of services they can use to make life easier.
“Our website provides a place where people can go to find the information they need and gives companies a place where they can promote their services and provide information for people to view to assist them in making decisions about their care.”

The website also contains information about events such as free electric blanket testing, free care advice clinics and news that affects the elderly and vulnerable.
“News such as care funding, older people in care homes being given the chance to rate their care, the outcome of free care advice clinics and other issues are important to the people they affect and we include it to ensure the website is a one-stop shop of relevant information,” added Charlotte.
