Touring West End Musical Blood Brothers to Extend its Run for County Audiences.

Theatre Severn has announced that an extra performance of hit musical Blood Brothers has just been put on sale. The extra performance, scheduled for Friday 24th April, has been added due to unprecedented public demand.

Venue spokesman Pip Bayley said ‘We knew Blood Brothers was going to be popular, it is a great show, but even we have been surprised at how quickly tickets have sold. Most of the performances have now sold out, thanks in part to the brilliant casting, so we were very keen to add this extra show. We want to give more people the chance to see this wonderful show, but be quick as tickets are already selling fast!’

The show will star Marti Pellow, former lead singer of Wet Wet Wet, and former Nolan Sister, Maureen Nolan. Marti Pellow has recently enjoyed musical success playing ‘Che’ in the acclaimed West End run of Evita. Maureen Nolan returns as Mrs Johnstone, a role she has previously played in both London’s West End and in National tours. As the fourth Nolan sister to play the role, the group has earned entry into the Guinness Book of Records

Written by Willy Russell, the legendary show tells the moving tale of twins who, separated at birth, grow up on opposite sides of the tracks, only to meet again with tragic consequences and includes the musical numbers Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and the emotionally charged hit Tell Me It’s Not True.  With over 10,000 performances in London’s West End, the show has been affectionately christened the Standing Ovation Musical, due to its popularity with audiences.

Tickets for the extra showing of Blood Brothers on Friday 24th April are on sale now. Details can be found by visiting the venues website or by contacting the Box Office on 01743 281 281.
