Sod cutting ceremony takes place at Curlew Meadows, Baschurch

A sod cutting ceremony recently took place at Curlew Meadows, Baschurch to celebrate construction work commencing to build 40 new homes.  The 18 month build programme, with a contract value of nearly £4m, will deliver a range of new homes in a great location.

The development will offer 26 two, three and four bed homes for sale, 4 two bed flats for market rent and 8 two bed houses and 2 one bed flats for affordable rent.

The site in Baschurch is Severnside Housing’s second venture into building homes for sale on the open market.  The homes will be sold and let by Severn Homes, a division of Severnside, dedicated to providing high quality homes and exceptional customer service.

Sarah Ellis, Sales Manager at Severn Homes said “We are excited to begin construction and expect the first properties to become available to buy early 2017.  Curlew Meadows will offer a lovely collection of new homes within the beautiful village of Baschurch.   Each home has been thoughtfully designed to appeal to first time buyers and growing families who are looking for a high quality, beautiful home in the peaceful Shropshire countryside.”

Sepp Sargeant, Head of Development at Severnside said “Severnside is always looking for innovative ways to build new homes to meet the growing housing need in Shropshire.  The homes to be sold by Severn Homes on the open market will help to subsidise the affordable homes that will also be built on this site.  The homes will be built to a very high standard in a beautiful location with good transport links, close to amenities, a designated children’s play area and local schools.”

Jamie Evans from Pave Aways Ltd, who are the local contractors appointed to build the homes, also added “Pave Aways Ltd were delighted to win the building contract to deliver this exciting development in our local area. Our head office in Knockin is within 6 miles of the site. Pave Aways is committed to supporting the local community by both employing a large percentage of local workforce and sourcing materials from the local area wherever possible.”
